For late diagnoses & those who’ve spent years masking

Dr. Chaparro also has specialized experience working with adolescents and adults who may have gone undiagnosed due to masking, camouflaging, or developing compensatory strategies that concealed underlying neurodevelopmental differences. She understands that many individuals, particularly those who are highly capable, may have spent much of their lives working exceptionally hard to meet expectations while struggling internally with exhaustion, self-doubt, anxiety, or feelings of being “different.”

She recognizes that the long-term effects of masking can contribute to significant stress, burnout, anxiety, and depression, and that these concerns often overlap with symptoms of Autism and ADHD. Through thoughtful assessment and support, Dr. Chaparro helps individuals better understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and access the resources and accommodations they need to thrive authentically and sustainably.
